For Immediate Release: Call for Artists, MICROBIOMES: CONNECTING COMMUNITIES
The OSU College of Science, in conjunction with the College of Liberal Arts and the SPARK Arts + Science initiative, invites Oregon State students and faculty to submit creative work!
Selected work will be displayed in the Department of Microbiology at Nash Hall and other campus locations.
The call for MICROBIOMES: CONNECTING COMMUNITIES seeks artwork submissions that highlight the interconnectedness of micro and macro perspectives. What can the drama and elegance of the microbial world show us about the environment, ourselves, and the connections that unite life on this planet? Chosen artworks will embody collaborations across disciplines incorporating the arts and sciences to spark wonder and curiosity about how the intricacies of microbial ecosystems connect us more deeply to global cycles, communities, and/or concepts.
What are the submission criteria?
This is a curated exhibition and will feature students and faculty/staff whose work best represents the theme of Microbiomes: Connecting Communities. This call is open to both two dimensional, and digital media formats. Accepted artwork must be available for show dates (substitutions will not be accepted).
The deadline for art submissions is March 17th, 2017.
