Many microbiology students choose to take advantage of the excellent international programs at OSU. Financial aid is available to assist with expenses for the majority of these programs and students may also earn OSU credit. The most appropriate College of Science Study Abroad programs are in Mexico, Australia and New Zealand, and Great Britain. However, the Office of International Education also offers many other programs. The International Degree and IE3 International Internships also provide unique educational experiences.
OSU has nearly 200 options in many countries. All OSU-approved study abroad programs earn OSU credit.
(1) Oregon State University study abroad.
(2) College of Science study abroad.
The International Degree is a dual degree in the International Study of a student's primary major. International expertise can be gained, leading to a challenging and rewarding career. Be sure to check the International Degree Admission criteria.
This concurrent baccalaureate degree is obtainable only in conjunction with another undergraduate degree. In addition to the standard requirements, the ID candidate must:
(1) take an additional 32 credits;
(2) demonstrate achievement or proficiency in a foreign language equal to the completion of the fourth year's study in that language.
(3) spend a minimum of one ten-week term abroad in an approved program, and
(4) complete an integrative senior thesis.

IE3 GLOBAL INTERNSHIPS
IE3 Global Internships is an OSU program that facilitates locating international internship opportunities, as well as scholarships, and loans for participation. Students can gain work experience in a chosen career while earning OSU credit on an IE3 Global Internship. Internships are available in over 40 countries and are available in most disciplines.
